About the Job

Your tasks as a population registration officer involve investigating, analyzing, and making decisions on various population registration matters. Primarily, you will work with cases related to moving to Sweden, but if necessary, you may also need to support our other sections within the unit with, among other things, relocation cases and bookkeeping checks. The job includes reviewing various foreign documents. You will meet people from different backgrounds, mainly via phone and written correspondence. The content, breadth, and complexity of the work are determined by the needs of the organization.

You plan your own workday and drive your cases both independently and in collaboration with others. You work closely with your colleagues, providing and receiving support from each other. You learn and gain new knowledge both broadly and in depth. You have flexible working hours, and it is a given for us that you should have a balance between work and leisure.

You belong to a population registration section in Population Registration Unit 3 at the Department of Tax and Property, located in Gothenburg. In one section, there are about 20 colleagues.

About You

You should also have:

  • a current (at least 60 approved credits) or recently completed higher education of at least 180 credits in political science or law

It is desirable that you have relevant work experience in service where you have interacted with people via phone and/or email. It is also desirable that you have relevant work experience in administrative or processing work, for example from public services, agencies, insurance companies, or banks.

Good to Know

The employment is temporary from June 1 to August 31, 2026.

Due to the nature of the tasks, there is limited opportunity to work from home in this job.

In this recruitment, we may use psychological tests.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
